Taylor Swift Grammy 2016 Red Carpet Celebrity Makeup with Selena Gomez Ann Wintour

So you were planning a date with Haagen-Dazs in your pj's when you got a last-minute invite to a Grammy viewing party, eek!  You're in luck, because I'm the queen of makeup on the fly and I'm here to tell you, you don't need a trunk full of makeup to look like you should be walking the red carpet next to Miss Taylor.  Here's how to take your makeup from day to night in five minutes flat.

1. Turn Up the Volume (30 sec.)

Choose eyes or lips to turn up the color volume -- I am partial to a vibrant red lip to instantly add drama to your I-pushed-snooze-three-times-day-look.  Anyone can wear red lipstick, I repeat, anyone.  For anyone who says they can't, they've never been matched to the correct tone of red.  Bonus -- under the twinkling stars of night is the perfect time to experiment with bold colors, because soft, dimly lit lights are SO much more forgiving than the harsh day light.  Still a little hesitant -- try channeling you inner-French woman, it works for me!

2. Come Alive (1 minute)

Nothing makes your whole face come alive more than taking away the I'm-a-little-sleep-deprived-bags and discoloration under the eyes.  Have you ever had someone ask you if you're tired -- BTW, never ask someone this -- usually on a day when you've skipped your makeup?  To perk up the undereyes, first block out discoloration with a highly pigmented peach or orange color, two shades darker than your skin tone -- you're doing this to cancel purple to blue hues.  Next, brighten the area with a top coat concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone to illuminate the area.  Be sure to focus the concealer on the inner corner or one-third of the eye are.  Dab out any redness or blemishes on any other are of the skin.

3. Illuminate (1 minute)

Add that kissed my an angel highlight to your cheekbones, brow bone, chest, neck and arms -- pretty much anywhere you want to twinkle like a star.  Dollup Case magnetic palette naked palette to store and organize makeup for travel touch-ups

4. Cheeky (1 minute)

Add a quick pop of color to the apples of the cheeks -- either pinks or bronze -- to had a healthy bit of inner glow back to the face.  No blush handy?  No problem -- add a dab of lipstick rouge to your fingers, blend it on the top of your hand and gently rub it onto the apples of your cheeks.  Believe, I've done this a hundred times -- it works perfectly.

5. Tightlines (1 minute)

To finish off the look, opt for inking your eye's waterlines with a deep brown or black color, called 'tightening,' on both the upper and lower lashes.  The waterline is that inner ledge of the eye your lashes grow below.  Tightlines add instant drama and depth to the eye area without trying to hard. Paint a few layers of mascara onto your lashes and you're out the door with 30 seconds to spare!

Expert tip:  Use the Dollup Case for quick makeup touch-ups to carry your makeup with you and keep it perfectly organized in your desk, handbag, gymbag or briefcase.
